Sing Street (2016)
What a delightful film, full of nostalgia, laughs and surprisingly good soundtrack this little gem will lift your heart and remind you of being young(especially in the 80's). The band are made up of six outcasts who start a band because of a beautiful girl, what emerges is some actual talent and true friends. Certainly not a cringey coming of age movie more an amusing down-to-earth evocative music fest. Usually i hate original tunes for a film like this but director John Carney who did well with Once(2007) but faltered with the dire shite that is Begin Again(2013) soars here with some genuinely great and catchy songs - not yet sing-a-long but you will be smiling.
Like This Watch These: Once (2007) Not overly slushy singing love story, The Commitments (1991) Superb Irish Soul Singers, Grease (1978) Classic singing teens.
