Sunset Boulevard (1950)

Oft quoted and referenced this glamorous hollywood classic is still a joy to behold, over dramatic Norma Desmond just grabs and holds your attention. I may be biased because as an obvious film fan i adore the history and grandeur of old movie town, even more so when it shines a light on itself. Stunningly acted and artfully directed the full glory of black & white dazzles, many well placed apt cameos ( Buster Keaton, Cecil B. Demille and Hedda Hopper) and a juicy tale of a faded movie star this is masterful filmmaking at it's best.

Like This Watch These: All About Eve (1950) Older actress ousted by young ingenue, Citizen Kane (1941) Introduced many commonly used cinematic standards, M (1931) A manhunt for a child murderer.
