Beauty and the Beast (2017)

Glorious, sumptuous and downright lovely, this gave me the exact same feeling as when i first watched and fell in love with the original at 9 years old. Excellent casting, Gaston and Lefou are bloody perfect, Belle's voice is not the best but no matter and the Beast is funny and great, although he is a bit too CGI for me, and all the living objects are wonderful. The castle is jaw droppingly opulent and beautiful, i want that library. There are some new tunes and some slight changes in the story that make it no better or worse. This is just how i had hoped, my face hurt half way through as i had been constantly grinning with glee (and miming to all the songs), i smiled, laughed and cried just as i do at the animation. An affectionate and worthwhile retelling, if you love the 1991 version this will only cement and rekindle your feelings.

Like This Watch These: Beauty and the Beast (1991) This is a definitive part of my childhood as it should be for all, Cinderella (2015) One of the first Disney stories retold in live action, watch for the magical movement of the dress alone, The Jungle Book (2016) Surprising and wonderful, superb effects.
