Ghostbusters (2016)

I had no problems when i heard about this reboot, at least they were going to freshen it up with a gender swap, it would have been horrific to try with men as there are none that could possibly fill the boots of the originals. Leslie Jones stands out as the wittiest and the chemistry between the gang having worked together before on SNL. Where this falls down however is the plot and villain, it should have focused on the banding together of the team with a simpler story, it just tries to squeeze to much in and it gets sloppy. Some fantastic cameos lift it but the Chris Hemsworth character is fit yet annoying. The outpouring of technical jargon from Kate McKinnon's Holtzman could have been turned into a joke instead it just loses the audience. It is fun and enjoyable it's just a bit too try hard.

Like This Watch These: Ghostbusters 1 & 2 (1984/9) Unbeatable originals still superb, Bridesmaids (2011) McCarthy and Wiig very funny breakout comedy, Pitch Perfect (2012) Funny ladies singing.
