Get Out (2017)
My advice would be to watch this film without knowing anything about it, so maybe stop reading as i think there may be SPOILERS. A young black man (Psychoville's Tealeaf) goes to meet his white girlfriends family at their estate, things seem fine until odd things occur and the young man may be in danger. This is unnerving from the beginning but why? what's going on?, you will ask yourself through the whole film. Excellent acting all round from the creepy parents, annoying brother and the peculiar staff everyone is great. One of the best things about this movie is that when things get perilous the lead doesn't hesitate to take down whatever is in his way, unlike many horrors when things that aren't tied up come back to haunt the protagonist, not the case here. This film is thrilling and makes you think a superb debut from director Jordan Peele, keep it up sir.
Like This Watch These: You're Next (2011) Brilliant a female lead who kicks proper arse when attacked whilst staying with her boyfriend's family, The Guest (2014) A family welcomes a friend of their dead son into the house but should they, The Invitation (2015) A man goes to a dinner party thrown by his ex-wife and her new husband, what do the have in store for their guests.
