Witness (1985)
MUST WATCH They don't make 'em like this anymore, an intelligent and individual crime drama with non sickening romance. Skillfully crafted by Peter Weir who builds tension and thrills amid daily Amish life with some subtle flirting. An Amish youngster (lovely Lucas Haas) witnesses a murder so a cop (heroic and handsome Harrison Ford) goes undercover in the community to protect him until the trial. It has everything, humour, gorgeous scenery the list is endless all films should be made in it's image. I saw this first as an early teen and i am equally fond of it now if not more.
Like This Watch These: Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) Haunting and mysterious, some girls go missing during a summer picnic, The Mosquito Coast (1986) An inventor moves his family to Central America, sublime, Mute Witness (1995) A mute woman sees a murder in the film studio she is locked in.
