The Girl On The Train (2016)

Not a bad adaptation but one that is perhaps better if you have read the book, certain things made more sense to me because i knew more about the characters and situation than can be explored in two hours on film. Emily Blunt is the stand out here expertly doing drunk, she is even slightly ruddy faced, she is believable and sympathetic and portrays the protagonist as she was written, the supporting actors are fine just not enough to do. The book reveals things a lot later but the movie needs to be more obvious earlier. One of those rare films when reading the book beforehand enhances viewing.

Like This Watch These: Gone Girl (2014) Another book adaptation, The Vanishing (1988) (Subs) Not the american one, The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) Twists galore.
