Please Don't Eat The Daises (1960)

Doris Day i love you and this is my favourite in your vast filmography and it's got David Niven too, surely the epitome of an English Gentleman. Their family (4 mischievous sons and a massive dog) move from Manhattan to the country, but Dad Larry still spends most of his time critiquing Theatre in New York. This is my joy, it's cheesy but wonderful it looks gorgeous, the clothes, the sets and the actors all of it, it is silly, fun and happy not my usual kind of film. Convincing as a couple these two bicker and laugh in equal measure showing the ups and downs of marriage, kids and life in general. The theme song is my most beloved earworm.

Like This Watch These: A Matter of Life and Death (1946) The glorious Mr. Niven excels in this Powell and Pressburger classic, The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) Paired with James Stewart this couple stumble upon an assassination plot, That Touch of Mink (1962) Doris and Cary Grant get together via some missteps.
