War On Everyone (2016)
There is nice chemistry between Michael Pena (who is always tremendous) and Alexander Skarsgard as these two corrupt but funny cops, unfortunately that's the only thing that really works here. This dark buddy comedy is funny but the plot is wafer thin and when it comes to getting the bad guy it seems all too easy. Some very amusing scenes with Pena's family, especially the kids and some subtle one liners make it worth your time. The writer/director John Michael McDonagh's previous two films were much better though, and in comparison this is left wanting.
Like This Watch These: Calvary (2014) Funny and sad, Brendan Gleeson shines as a threatened Priest, The Guard (2011) Gleeson again as policeman partnered with an uptight F.B.I. agent, Dragnet (1987) One of the best buddy cop movies ever.
