Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) (Subs)
A very poignant and beautiful film that i didn't love, and can't pinpoint why. A wonderful and explorative story of how war affects people in different ways depending their status or situation and how nothing is ever black or white. Acted very well though i found neither lead particulary endearing. It feels much more modern than it is, both in tone and style. This is not your usual romance, it is a deeper thing the two mains share, an illicit affair they both need to share some hidden demons. Gorgeous, influential, deep and thought provoking, just not for me.
Like This Watch These: The 400 Blows (1959) (Subs) A totally universal and moving story, Come And See (1985) (Subs) One of the most harrowing war films ever, Jacob's Ladder (1990) A haunted veteran seeks the truth.
