This is a very good film, more because of the incredible nature of this true story than cinematic excellence. Battle sequences are shot well mostly concentrating on the devastating injuries, understandable when the lead character is a medic. Andrew Garfield earns his Oscar nomination as the heroic Desmond Doss but the Directing and Picture nods feel too much like overkill, don't get me wrong this film should be seen, by everyone, but to celebrate the valiant efforts of one man who saved many not to honour those framing his bravery so it looks good. Desmond Doss is a name i will never forget sadly i may this film.
Like This Watch These: Rescue Dawn (2006) Survival, The Great Raid (2005) Working together, Saving Private Ryan (1998) Wow.
