The Bride Wore Black (1968) (Subs)
A visually stunning and beautiful revenge flick from the supreme Francois Truffaut, that is clever and slick with a hardcore leading lady. I think it's best not to know too much when watching a film, here all you need is there in the title and the defiant look on the face of Jeanne Moreau, who is so powerful throughout, pictured above. Expertly acted and made films like this don't date.
Like This Watch These: Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia (1974) A smooth and atmospheric Peckinpah pic, Oldboy (2003) An epic South Korean revenge shocker, Dead Man's Shoes (2004) Harrowing but superb.
