Ellie Parker (2005)

This film screams poor me, looking at a struggling actress in L.A., it is hard to feel pity when portrayed by Hollywood star Naomi Watts, it may have had more power with a breakout performance by an unknown. It has no real structure it's just an excerpt of a life, filled with auditions, classes and even a night out to see Keanu Reeves band Dogstar play. Filmed on a hand held camera the content is not good enough for that not to matter. People in the industry probably see it a different way which is maybe more enjoyable.

Better Than This: The Impossible (2012) Miss Watts shines as a mother facing real problems, Festen (The Celebration) (1998) The content is so strong the camera style adds to this excellent Dogme film, All About Eve (1950) A far better look into the life of an actress.
